Nina Russ offers instructional videos on building complex Shibari ties using simple techniques. Her teachings focus on the foundational elements of Japanese rope bondage, including discussions on natural patterns, geometry, symmetric and asymmetric tying techniques, as well as specific patterns such as hishi (diamond) and kikkou (tortoise shell). She covers various types of ties, including single and double-column ties, and explores floor-based suspensions to enhance complexity beyond the physical body. Nina Russ is a London-based shibari performer, rope artist, and educator. She began her journey in 2011 under the mentorship of Esinem, leading to the creation of BOUND shibari night in 2012 and ShibariClasses in 2015. Her education includes workshops with renowned Japanese shibari masters such as Kazami Ranki, Yukimura Haruki, and Kinoko Hajime. Nina has performed globally, participating in events like the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Rope Bondage and RopeFest in St. Petersburg.

Her passion for shibari extends to artistic and fashion collaborations, as well as local performances. Nina views shibari as an art form that fosters deep connections between participants and supports personal development. With roots in martial arts, she emphasizes the discipline, efficiency, and confidence that shibari can cultivate. She encourages practitioners to focus on their shared experiences, using rope as a means of communication that resonates with both the mind and body.
