Feeling as if he unfairly cheated death too many times, Shikishima, a surviving Kamikaze pilot is attacked on Odo Island along with many war plane engineers by a gargantuan monster. After the engineers die due to Shikishima failing to distract the monster, an overwhelming amount of guilt weighs on him, especially after a homeless woman and a baby move into his home when he returns. Shikishima, now on a personal mission, teams up with a large group of veterans to finally take down the monster known as Godzilla.
Episode Summary: A kamikaze pilot plagued by survivor's guilt seeks redemption when a giant monster he failed to kill is transformed by radiation from atomic bomb tests and lays siege to post-war Japan.

Video
The video is the same on all JPN and USA UHDs, using the Japanese master with original intertitles and forced subtitles in one scene. This is despite the existence of an English master, used by the Netflix stream and German disc.

Audio
Included both Atmos and 5.1 mixes from the Japanese UHD. The 5.1 is reportedly closer to what was heard in theaters during the original release. The Atmos track is remixed for home video, as described by the director and crew in this Japanese interview. Most notably, Godzilla's roars have been swapped for more impactful ones in a couple of scenes.

Subtitles
As the disc didn't have any, forced subtitles were created for the English dub by merging the forced track from Netflix with select lines from the full subtitle track on the UHD, to add the parts that Netflix omitted due to using a localized master.

Preferred iTunes over Netflix for German, French, and Spanish (Latin American) subtitles, to match the discs. Preferred Amazon over Netflix for Japanese (SDH) subtitles as they don't include redundant parts subtitling the localized English intertitles.

Notes
The Godzilla store exclusive "e;Watch-Along"e; re-release includes a subtitled Japanese commentary with the crew; otherwise, the disc is identical to the previous release.

Trimmed out 186 frames of a flashing leader from the start of the video (which should not be visible, and is skipped when playing the disc from the menu) to avoid a large container delay on audio.
