RELEASE NOTES..: This little gem was a true labour of love for all involved, even down to the distribution company, Cineverse, who not only saved it, but spent the marketing budget on buying out medical debt for those in need! ♡ Despite marketing materials and the title card in the film including the word Unrated, the director confirms early on in the commentary track, that the title is actually just The Toxic Avenger and the alternate name was MPAA mandated, due to essentially 1 VFX shot being added, which they claim somehow made this a different movie. This hybrid release includes the director's commentary from the regular Blu-ray, synced SRT subtitles from WEB-DL, compatibility audio, retail HDR10plus metadata, and custom generated Dolby Vision CMV4.0 metadata. Finally, for anyone with some extra cash lining their pockets who wants to support this fun, creative, cult indie flick, please consider buying a disc from your local Blu-ray retailer or find your preferred release here. Now and again, we need to demonstrate that we still care about indie filmmaking and physical media, lest they both disappear like the Dodo, and as Toxie put it best, “Sometimes you have to do something”. ;)
