Release Notes
The new FRA UHD is a big upgrade over the CHN UHD in terms of encode quality and color grade. Disk Kino performed a custom color grade of the 4K master for their UHD release, but this new grade is unfortunately botched. The entire film is far too bright and there are clipped highlights throughout the film. The "e;teal"e; of the original 4K restoration was removed by Disk Kino in an effort to "e;correct"e; the white balance, but the result ends up looking different from every other disc—discs from the 4K restoration that was approved by the film's cinematographer Hua Hui-ying. The FRA UHD matches these previous discs. Between all of the releases, the mono audio is pretty much identical—stuck with the FRA UHD's track for convenience.
