Review:
If Black River had sufficient budget, one could almost imagine it being a grand tech-noir experience in the vein of Dark City. The TV movie pedigree of Black River is noticeable from the first scenes, which is helpful in keeping one&s expectations grounded.

The core narrative hook is moderately compelling, although you do notice inconsistencies and unconvincing plot elements. This is an above average scifi narrative, albeit paired with a weak execution.

I found the lead actor, Jay Mohr, a bit annoying in this role. For what it&s worth, I thought he was good in Go and The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Something didn&t click with Mohr&s approach to this character.

Recommended for fans of low budget scifi movies and those looking for a slightly above average tv movie experience.
